Bee Cave is a quickly growing community about 12 miles west of Austin in Travis County. Although the city itself was not incorporated until 1987, there were settlers in the area around Barton Creek as early as the 1850s. The area got its name from the colonies of Mexican honeybees that formed along the banks of the creeks.
Residents of Bee Cave feed into the Lake Travis ISD. You may find more information on the school district here.
